Incentives
Money the state will give you, that most businesses never ask for
Non-repayable capital subsidies, five years of SGST back, expansion support. It is all published — in government orders written in a way that guarantees nobody reads them.
What government incentives can a Telangana MSME claim?
Under the Telangana MSME Promotion Policy 2024, MSME units may claim a capital investment subsidy of 25% of fixed capital investment up to ₹30 lakh, 100% reimbursement of State GST for the first five years from commercial production, and additional subsidy of up to ₹20 lakh for expansion or diversification. Women-owned micro and small enterprises receive further subsidy under the T-IDEA framework.
The main schemes
Capital Investment Subsidy
25%, up to ₹30 lakh- Who
- MSME units under the Telangana MSME Promotion Policy 2024
- Covers
- Fixed capital investment — land, building, plant and machinery
- Nature
- Non-repayable, non-dilutive subsidy
- Route
- TS-iPASS single-window registration, then claim with the Department of Industries and Commerce after commencement of production
SGST Reimbursement
100% for 5 years- What
- Full reimbursement of State GST
- Period
- First five years from the date of commercial production
- Why it matters
- For a manufacturing unit with real turnover this is frequently worth more over five years than the capital subsidy — and it is the one most often left unclaimed
Expansion & Diversification
Up to ₹20 lakh- Who

- Note
- Additional to the capital investment subsidy, subject to eligibility conditions
Women Entrepreneurs
Additional 10%, up to ₹10 lakh- Who
- Women-owned micro and small enterprises, under T-IDEA
- Status
- Reported as being increased to 20% — confirm the notified rate before relying on the higher figure
Other benefits under T-IDEA
Varies- Typically includes
- Power cost reimbursement, interest subvention on term loans, stamp duty and registration fee reimbursement, land cost rebates in notified industrial parks, and skill development support
- Important
- Rates, ceilings and sector eligibility differ by unit category, location and promoter category. There is no single number that applies to everyone.
Read this before you rely on any figure above
A great deal of what circulates online about Telangana incentives is out of date. The widely-cited TS-iPASS Industrial Policy covered 2020–25 and that period has lapsed. The state also renamed entities from "TS" to "TG" in 2024–25. Consultant blogs and aggregator sites are still quoting percentages from expired policy periods as though they are current.
We have compiled the figures on this page from published policy documents and government sources. They are the best current picture we can establish. They are not a substitute for confirming your specific eligibility before you commit capital.
What to actually do
- Register your project on the TS-iPASS portal — it is the entry point for every incentive claim
- Confirm the currently notified rates for your unit category directly with the Department of Industries and Commerce
- Check whether your sector is in the notified thrust list, which changes the numbers
- Check location-based enhancement — backward districts and notified parks carry different rates
- Note that most claims are filed after commencement of production, so plan the cash flow gap
